Arsenal 'need a bit of depth' says Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas believes Arsenal "need a bit of depth" in order to keep challenging for the Premier League title.

He told the Planet Premier League podcast: "It's funny, because the other day you are watching both games at the same time and when you think about it, you say 'wow, Man City have like two teams that can win the Premier League'.

"Arsenal don't in this regard [have that depth], so for me is a bit of everything.

"Yes, they do need a bit of depth to keep pushing, pushing, pushing during the season and not rely always on [Bukayo] Saka, on Rice, on [Thomas] Partey if he's injured or not, on [William] Saliba.

"But also in my opinion, and he's done really, really well, but it is not his main position - is Havertz. He has had a fantastic season.

"If Arsenal can manage to get that top striker that can guarantee you goals through the all of the season, they will be much, much, much closer to getting it."

Arsenal stars in Shearer's TOTS

Alan Shearer's Premier League team of the season includes five Arsenal players.

The former England striker included Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard in his line-up.

There were also places for Manchester City trio Rodri, Phil Foden and Erling Haaland.

Olise attracts interest

Michael Olise is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs.

The Crystal Palace winger provided 16 goal contributions in just 19 league appearances this season.

According toThe Guardian, Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United are all interested in signing the 22-year-old.

Olise signed a new four-year deal with Palace last summer through until 2027.

Rice's 'game-changing' diet

Declan Rice has revealed his "game-changing" diet before Arsenal matches.

The midfielder has established himself as a key man for the Gunners since his move from West Ham last summer.

Rice told Men's Health UK: "I have four pancakes before a game. Covered in syrup or honey.

"I swear to God, it’s the best thing… When I joined the club, I could see the[Arsenal]players eating them and thought to myself, ‘What is going on here?’ But honestly, it’s been a game changer."

Gunners most sustainable

Arsenal have been ranked as the most sustainable club in the world.

Research by CIES Football saw the Gunners come out on top against clubs from 59 different leagues.

Clubs were ranked on the stability of their squad, age structure and contract policy.

Aston Villa, Manchester City and Brentford also appeared in the top 10.

Saliba thanks fans

William Saliba has sent a message to Arsenal fans following the end of the season.

The Frenchman took to Instagram after the Gunners missed out on the Premier League title.

He wrote: "Gunners, thanks for everything! The support this season has been crazy and we felt it at every moment.

"Next season big things are going to happen. We will get there together. North London Forever."

Sesko update

Benjamin Sesko is set to decide his future before the start of this summer’s Euros.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea have been strongly linked with the Slovenia international.

His agent has now confirmed he will make his decision within three weeks.

Sesko will either sign a new contract with RB Leipzig or leave the club this summer, reportsFabrizio Romano.

Arsenal goalie chase

Arseanl are preparing an approach for Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow.

The 26-year-old has won two league titles since coming through the clubs academy and has eight caps for the Netherlands.

The Mirror report Bijlow has been identified to replace Aaron Ramsdale, who the Gunners expect to leave this summer.

Ramsdale lost his place in the team to David Raya last season.

Rennes’ teen sensation Desire Doue is rated a target for Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta – as well as Manchester United.

Sport Zone say both clubs have held “initial contacts” with the French midfielder’s representatives.

Martin Odegaard ruefully reflected on missing out on the Premier League title.

The Arsenal skipper shared a picture of himself applauding the crowd on Sunday to Instagram.

In the caption, he wrote: “This one hurts, but I want to say thank you Gooners. Your support has been unbelievable and Sunday was still special thanks to you.

“We’ve had so many beautiful moments together this season and we came so close. I’m proud of what we’re doing, the progress we’ve made and the football we play.

Arsenal ace Thomas Partey has been strongly linked with a summer switch to Fenerbahce.

According to Fotospor, Partey has held talks with the Turkish giants’ president Ali Koc.

The midfielder is heading for the last 12 months of his contract at the Emirates.

But injuries again limited the Ghana international’s role in the past campaign as he managed just 16 games.

England legend Alan Shearer described all the drama surrounding Arsenal ace Ben White as a "mess".

Bloody hell man, you’ve got a Euros tournament, you’ve had a season like Ben White has had and he’s not going to be in that England squad…

England legend Gary Lineker has slammed Arsenal ace Ben White’s international exile and urged peace talks with manager Gareth Southgate.

I think Ben White’s had an absolutely brilliant season, he’s a superb player.

I just hope and wish there was a way that Gareth Southgate could make his peace with him and get him out there.

Obviously, with the injuries England have got at the moment, particularly back positions, and I suspect he could play anywhere across the back as he was a central defender, I think he’d be a really good addition.

Ian Wright's MOTD send-off

Arsenal legend Ian Wright fought back tears as he was given an emotional send-off in his final appearance on Match of the Day.

A video montage played in the popular show with Wright’s friends and family sending him heart-wrenching messages.

The former England international vowed “not to look at the camera” as he welled up.

In terms of numbers, nobody has been better than us – the records, the goals, the points and four in a row.

If I land here tomorrow and you say I will win six Premier Leagues in seven years, I would say: ‘Are you crazy?’ It’s impossible.

We have done something unbelievable. Six ­Premier Leagues in seven years, in this ­country with modern football and the teams and everything.

Rodri slams Arsenal's mentality

Manchester City star Rodri claimed that a difference in "mentality" separated his team and Arsenal in the Premier League title race.

City clinched the title following a 3-1 win over West Ham on Sunday, with the Gunners finishing just two points behind.

The two sides had been battling it out at the top of the table for months, but the Citizens edged it on the final day.

And the Spain international believes they did so due to their winning mentality.

To be honest, I think it's in here. It's the mentality. Great players all over the league, all over the clubs.

Arsenal also they deserve [to win], they did an unbelievable season, but I think the difference was in here [points to his head].

When they came here, they faced us at the Etihad, I saw them and said: 'Ah, these guys, they don't want to beat us, they just want a draw'. And that mentality, I don't think we would do it the same way.

And we caught them. At the end, if you give us one point, we will win the last seven, eight games even though it's so tough. So I think [winning the title] comes down to mentality.
