Connie Angland Waited 12 Years to Become Billy Bob Thornton’s Spouse (2024)

Connie Angland was born Constance I Angland on October 22, 1964. She is the adopted daughter of Water March, an Oscar-winning film editor, and grew up in a small town in Northern California.

She is a make-up artist who is known for her work with special effects crews on several blockbuster films, including "Men in Black," "Men in Black II," "Stigmata," and "Planet of the Apes."

After dating for 12 years and welcoming a daughter together, make-up artist Connie Angland and actor Billy Bob Thornton finally exchanged marital vows in 2014. Here is all you need to know about the veteran actor's 6th wife.

BEGINNING OF ANGLAND AND THORNTON'S RELATIONSHIP

Angland also worked on the 2003 film "Bad Santa" as a make-up artist. While filming the movie the previous year, she met her husband, Thornton, through her sister, who was his make-up artist.

In 2002, Angland met Thornton, the lead actor on the set of "Bad Santa." At the time, Billy Bob Thornton's spouse Angelina Jolie had just filed for divorce from him in August of that year.

Shortly after his split from Jolie, Thornton began dating Angland sometime in 2003. Many saw the couple as a perfect fit. They made their first public appearance together in May 2004 at Cannes.

CONNIE BECAME A MOTHER IN 2004

Thornton became a father for the fourth time when he and Angland welcomed a baby girl, Bella, on September 24, 2004. When they announced the news of her delivery, his publicist revealed that mother and child were doing well.

When Bella was born, the Academy Award-winning actor's publicist revealed that she weighed 6 lbs. 1 1/2 oz. Before her arrival, Thornton had three children from two of his five previous marriages.

ANGLAND MARRIES THORNTON

Angland's famous boyfriend did not want to tie the knot with her for a long time because he never wanted to see the headlines about 'wife number 6.' He also did not want to put himself and Angland under media pressure.

However, after 12 years together, they finally got married. The actor later explained why he had changed his mind during a 2015 guest appearance on "The Late Late Show with James Corden."

One of the reasons was that they did it for their daughter. While he was afraid his marriage with Angland could be as short as his previous five marriages, he wanted to do everything right with her.

The couple opted for a private ceremony in the front yard of their Los Angeles home in October 2014. They had notary ministers who came over with the books they signed, and it was not public records.

Despite his busy schedule, the "Fargo" star has the sweetest relationship with his daughter and will do anything to make her happy, even if it means dressing up as a ladybug for Halloween.

CONNIE IS RARELY SEEN WITH HER HUSBAND IN PUBLIC

Angland and her husband are rarely seen together in public. However, July 2022 was a busy month for them. The Golden Globe-winner stepped out with his wife as his date for the premiere of "The Gray Man," his new Netflix action thriller.

For the premiere, they wore complementing outfits. The actor looked stylish in a sleeveless black t-shirt accessorized with layers of silver jewelry over a pair of faded jeans and distressed gray boots.

Like her husband, Angland wore black. She opted for a high-necked lacey short sleeve dress that stopped above her knees. The dress also featured a see-through cutout, and she paired the look with a pair of black strappy stilettos.

Several days later, paparazzi spotted them leaving the Taverna Tony restaurant in Malibu, where they had just had a lunch date. The actor also reportedly stopped to take pictures with fans.
