The Game Fair 2024 is right around the corner, and whetheryou're a seasoned attendee or a first-timer, preparation is key to making themost of this exciting event. As always,we will be exhibiting at the show this year and we very much hope to see youthere. If you are attending here a few tips we’ve put together to help youenjoy the Gamefair to the max.
1. Plan Ahead
Accommodation: If you're traveling from afar, bookyour accommodation well in advance, because local stuff tends to get fullybooked quickly.
Tickets: Purchase your ticketsonline to avoid longqueues at the entrance. Look out for early bird discounts and special packages.
Schedule: Familiarize yourself with the eventschedule. Highlights include falconry displays, gundog competitions, clayshooting, and live music. Plan your day to catch your favourite activities andleave room for spontaneous exploration. Most import of all don’t forget to comeand see us at Philip Morris & Son to sort yourself out a new outfit for theseason ahead!
2. What to Wear – Your Gamefair Outfit
Comfortable Clothing: Much like a day at the races,people really go for it with theirGamefair outfits. The Game Fair is ashowcase of country style, so think practical yet stylish—tweed jackets,waterproofs, and sturdy boots, and dress in layers to adapt to changing weather.It goes without saying that if you want to truly look the part then, Gentlemen,you need aSchoffel Oakham Gilet, and, Ladies, you need to be inFairfax and Favour Regina Boots.
Footwear: Expect a lot of walking, possibly on unevenor muddy ground. If it’s been wet don’t forget wellies or walking boots. Welove people who do forget them as we are only too happy to sell you a new pair ofLe Chameau orBarbour Wellies (on a wet show day we can end up with 100s ofempty welly boxes as people put their new purchase straight on their feet!),but planning ahead could save you a few quid!
Accessories: Don’t forget a hat and sunglasses forsun protection, and a lightweight backpack for carrying essentials. Again,we’ll be very happy to sell you a new nice newBarbour cap, but planning aheadhelps!
3. Essential Gear
Hydration and Snacks: While there are plenty of foodstalls, carrying a water bottle and some snacks can keep you energizedthroughout the day.
Tech Savvy: Ensure your phone is fully charged, andconsider bringing a portable charger. A smartphone will be handy for navigatingthe event map, taking photos, and staying connected with your group. Once lostat the Gamefair it takes some finding a person if your mobile has died.
Suncream: Just as the Gamefair might require you tobring wellies, it also has a habit of getting you to reach for the suncream.You’re going to be outdoors for nearly the entire day, and many is the timeI’ve seen people looking very beetroot red by the end of the day.
4. Plan your Route Round the Ground
Arrival: Arrive early to avoid the busiest times andsecure good parking. The gates typically open at 9:00am, but getting there abit earlier can give you a head start.
Map and Info: Grab a map and event guide upon entry.These will help you locate key areas such as restrooms, first aid stations, andspecific exhibitors.
5. Making the Most of Exhibits and Shopping
Prioritize: Identify must-see exhibitors andattractions. If there are specific brands or products you’re interested in,visit those stands early before they get too crowded.
Demos and Workshops: Take advantage of the many demosand workshops offered. They provide valuable insights and a chance to try outnew products.
Bargain Hunting: Keep an eye out for exclusive eventdiscounts and offers. Exhibitors often have special deals that you won’t findelsewhere, and we are no exceptions to this on the Philip Morris & Sonstand. We’ll have exceptional bargains on last year’s end of line items, aswell as a first chance to get hold of new season launches fromBarbour,Schoffel,Harkila and others.
Pick your shopping up later: The shopping isexcellent at the Gamefair, but carrying your new purchases around all days isno fun. Most retailers will happily hold onto your purchases for you to pick upon the way back to the car, so I’d recommend making use of this.
6. Capture the Moments
Photography: Bring a camera or use your smartphone tocapture memories. From stunning displays to candid moments, you’ll want to lookback on the highlights.
