Sunday. (Holp, New Lebanon) Want All The Dope On Skunks? LAWRENCE, Kan. (UPI) A skunk is always a skunk, but the Kansas Biological sur vey's newly published 31-page free booklet lists helpful facts on how to get along with the animal. The booklet covers many facts about skunks and how to get rid of the stubborn stench. Zoologist W.

Thomas Ed-monds who wrote the booklet, lists 15 proven odor removers and disguisers. He said the two most effective remedies are spraying tomato juice or vinegar on the victim. Edmonds says if skunk musk gets in your eyes, a wash with lukewarm water followed by boric acid will soothe the burning, and tears also act as a cleanser. PUBLICATION was timed to coincide with the approach of winter, when skunks seek warm dens for the cold months which too often turn out to be under porches and in garages or basem*nts. "There is no need for alarm should one happen to cross paths with a skunk since it will usually go on about its business and eventually wander off," Edmonds wrote.

"It may be approached if one') movements are very slow and deliberate. "Should the skunk assume a warning posture, a temporary retreat is, of course, advisable." Giild Abuse Suspected A two year-old West Dayton child has been admitted to Children's Medical center suffering from extensive injuries. Baskeer J. Wright, was brought to the hospital Thur-say by his mother, Kathleen Wright. 23, of 1125 Cicilion St Doctors told police the child was unconscious and appeared to have been the victim of abuse.

The child had burns on his back and numerous bruises behind his ears, on his forehead and the bottom of his feet. He had suffered a broken leg in a i incident nearly six weeks ago, accord' ing to a police report. Police have labeled the inci dent a case of child endangering. No arrests have been made. from $111.7 million two years ago, Chollar stressed the expected cuts in program were minimal, adding, "the social problems we are addressing will become even more critical during tough economic times." SPECIFIC portfolio investment policies were not announced, But Chollar said there will be an attempt to provide the foundation with a "larger proportion of fixed-income securities." He said the move would reduce fluctuation in funding available to the foundation which relies heavily on dividends from its common stocks.

Chollar said the foundation would continue to use common stock as its primary investment strategy, JACKSON, Norman B. (Bink), age 41, of 2300 Keenan passed away Thursday.
